MAKEUP: WHAT I USED!

I believe it is every woman`s goal to find the perfect foundation to match the color of your skin! I have used products from Mac to Stila, to find the perfect color foundation. I still come back to drug store cosmetics! I purchased high end makeup, only to be let down many times! My main peeve is the color. To find a color of foundation that will closely match the color of my skin was trying to find a needle in a haystack! After all, women of color, come in many beautiful tones! I find not many cosmetic companies care about our needs!
We have skin discolorations, oily skin, rich undertones to name a few issues! Why do we have to go into a store to buy two different color foundations to obtain our skin tone?
Why do I buy a color that seems to match my skin, then it oxidizes to a darker skin tone. Then I have to find a powder to lighten the color on my face! How many times I go out side, get into my truck, look in the mirror and see a image of Casper The Friendly Ghost?! I was really becoming unhappy! How many bottles of high end foundation I used once, because it was such a big disappointment!

 Revlon Colorstay: Caramel

I went to Walmart to purchase Revlon ColorStay Foundation in Caramel for oily skin. It has nice texture, a light feel, buildable  coverage and staying power. What I do not like about it. The foundation oxidizes to a slightly darker shade! I usually have to mix it with another shade lighter to get a color near my skin tone. The darker shade is perfect in the summer, not in the winter!

 Covergirl Queen: Brulee

I heard about Covergirl Queen collection, but it is not available in my area. In October, my husband and I attended a wedding in North Carolina. We stopped at a CVS and what did I see? The Queen Collection! I bought Golden Honey Q825 and Brulee Q815.
Golden Honey was too dark for my skin tone. Brulee went on light, then oxidized perfectly to my skin tone!

The foundation claims to be a powder, a concealer and a foundation. I do not know about that! I like medium to full coverage,  so I applied my armor! Rimmel Fix and Perfect Pro foundation primer, MAC Select Cover-Up in NW40 and two full pumps of Brulee. The foundation dries fast to a powdery finish, so I buff it out with my Costal scents flat top buffer! I apply my Covergirl Queen lasting matte pressed powder in Q405 light golden. I apply my MAC Sheertone Shimmer Blush in Sweet As Cocoa. (The only color blush I use!)
