MENOPAUSE: The Beginning of a New Life!
About forty six, I began to skip menstrual cycles. "My Friend", as I called my cycles were becoming irregular! She would skip one or two months. When my friend would arrive, I would bleed like a pig for seven or more days. There were also times when I would bleed scantly for three days. As I got closer to, I became symptomatic!
At 49, all hell broke out! I was planning a wedding. Stress intensified my symptoms! "My friend" was almost non existent. I had hot flashes and night sweets. One time I was a hot flash so intense that my face broke out in hives!
There are times I felt crazy! I had palpitations and fluctuations in blood pressure. My pulse is very slow. I began to forget things. I could not concentrate on one thing too long. I would become flustered under extreme stress. That was a first for me! My gynecologist confirmed that I was menopausal. My estrogen levels were very low and my pituitary gland was working overtime!
The one thing that made me concerned was my non existent sex drive! My new husband was all over me and most of the time, I could leave it! Before menopause I could not keep my hands off of him! Thank God I do not have a problem with dryness. That would be disastrous!
At 53, I'am post menopausal. I do not experience hot flashes and anymore. I have witnessed my waist and thighs expand! My muscle mass decreased, while my fat deposits have increased! I have went to a size 10 to a size 14 in a year! I discovered I cannot eat certain food as I did before menopause. I would get indigestion, constipation or both!
After Thanksgiving, I will beginning a weight loss regiment. I have no health issues. If I don`t loose at least 20 pounds, I will have some soon!
Here are some links if you are approaching or going through menopause.

Finally, trust in the promises of God. Isaiah 58:11 says, “The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.”
